Bathroom Upgrades Your Guests Will Love

June 6, 2013

It’s the little things that count, right?

If so, then we have some great advice: giving guests a little bit extra makes them feel extra special – and they’ll remember these little extras, too. But it’s not only about making them feel good – it’s about giving them what they want and what they prefer.

For example, USA Today released an article last December stating that, “Hotel chains are upgrading their toiletry lines, believing that a shampoo brand can make a difference to travelers who already stock their homes with high-end products.”

It’s not all about providing name brands for guests, however, and you don’t have to go big in order to create a bathroom environment that impresses guests. After all, it is the little things that count, right?

Before we discuss some larger-scale upgrade options that would impress anyone, consider simple additions like the following:

Of course, what we’ve shown here are just a few examples of small bathroom upgrades. A quick visit to our website will reveal hundreds of more bath, shower, and bathroom accessories. Simple items like the ones featured above and on our website can have a huge impact.

If you’re thinking about larger-scale upgrades, we have ideas for that as well.

Let guests watch television in their bathrooms. Consider installing a small television when remodeling bathrooms. Low-voltage, water-resistant televisions come complete with water-resistant remotes and are designed for installation near a bathtub. To keep the television in working order, you’ll need to keep humidity levels in check with proper ventilation.

Keep guests warm with a cozy fireplace. Put a fireplace in the bathroom or living area so guests can enjoy the sight and warmth of a roaring fire as they relax in the tub or wind down from a rough day.

Dazzle guests with the beauty of an impressive sink and faucet. Make a design statement by upgrading to a chic vessel sink. This popular style of sink appears to sit on the top of the vanity counter like a bowl on a table. A vessel sink paired with a goose neck faucet can double as a focal point for any bathroom.

Don’t let guests get cold feet. Treat visitors to warmth underfoot with a radiant-heat system installed below the bathroom floor. Such a system is especially welcome beneath typically cold materials such as ceramic tile and stone. Add a layer of style and comfort with a gorgeous, soft area rug for guests to plant their feet on when they step out of the tub or shower.

Green at Heart: One Brand’s Commitment To The Environment

April 24, 2013

sunbeam green

For the Sunbeam® Hospitality team, being sustainable, smart and responsible doesn’t mean giving up any of the comforts we’ve come to know and love while traveling – just being sensible about how we use them.

Anyone want to admit to skipping showers to conserve water?

Don’t look at us – and we don’t recommend you do it, either.

In fact, it’s not even necessary, thanks to the greensense™ line of eco-friendly in-room amenities from the Sunbeam® Hospitality brand.

Launched in 2009, the greensense™ product portfolio has been a guiding light (the low-wattage kind) for the hospitality industry, leading the way with products such as LED dimmable
night-lights and flow-rate-regulating showerheads, potentially saving millions of gallons of water and thousands of hours of energy usage along the way.

Jennifer Hansard, Group Marketing Manager for Sunbeam® Hospitality, loves talking up the line wherever she goes: “I’m constantly amazed at how changing little things – like changing a faucet aerator, for instance – makes an enormous impact on our use of natural resources.”

Hansard isn’t the only one enamored with the lineup. Hotel managers that took part in the test launch had good things to say about the products – and the savings they were able to achieve from usage. Plus, their guests now had yet another reason to love staying at those particular hotel chains.

“It would be great if all hotels thought like this,” wrote one guest. “Going ‘green’ just makes so much sense on so many levels, from environmental stewardship to the financial savings that hotels can pass along to us as guests.” In fact, an average 150-room hotel can save up to $26,000* annually – in water and energy savings – just by converting to the current ensemble of greensense™ products.

As we all continue to share the responsibility of conservation, it’s nice to know that, thanks to brands like Sunbeam® Hospitality, we won’t have to give up any of the conveniences we’ve grown accustomed to – especially the showering.

*Savings based on average energy and water use of a 150-room hotel with 67% occupancy converting to a greensense™  showerhead, aerator, iron, hair dryer and night-light.

Prepare Your Property For The Winter Months

October 22, 2012

The onset of fall means it’s time to prepare for the change in seasons! From getting rooms up to par and ready for cool weather to planning for holiday décor and events, the winter months bring ample opportunity to impress guests with getting the subtle details right.

Something as simple as providing pumpkin spice coffee or peppermint hot cocoa in the lobby can be a warm welcome to guests coming in from the cold. Depending on the holiday, tasteful décor can also really put guests in the festive spirit. Use fall gords and squashes, neutral colors and dried autumn flowers in the weeks leading up to Halloween and Thanksgiving. Crisp pine scents, poinsettias, and simple accents of gold and silver can be used during December. It’s important to stay tasteful and subtle with décor – remember that less is often more.

When it comes to guest rooms, comfort is key. Make sure you have satisfactory heating devices, bedding and comforters.Providing plush robes and slippers for your guests can really be a pleasant surprise. Have any windows that aren’t directly accessible? Cover them with plastic coating. Extra insulation can go a long way towards saving on heating bills, and can help keep guest rooms warm and cozy.

We’re sure you’re already feeling the crisp air, so get started now. Browse our website to see how you can ensure a warm, welcoming, and festive holiday vacation for your guests this year.
